Hung Yen Industrial Parks: Updated List
Hung Yen, known as a key economic region of Northern Vietnam, boasts a strategic location for economic development. The province has capitalized on its advantages, focusing on infrastructure development and attracting significant investments from domestic and international corporations. These efforts have fueled the growth of industrial parks, urban areas, and environmentally friendly large-scale investment zones.
To enhance investment efficiency, Hung Yen has introduced favorable policies, including streamlined land clearance and industrial real estate allocation processes. As a result, the province has emerged as a prime destination for foreign investors, marking a breakthrough in industrial development and positioning itself as a leading industrial province in Vietnam.
Currently, Hung Yen hosts over 10 industrial parks spanning more than 2,000 hectares. Below is an updated list and development plans for the province’s industrial parks:
I. Active Hung Yen Industrial Parks (7 Parks)
Pho Noi Textile and Garment Industrial Park
- Area: 121.82 ha
- Location: Near the intersection of National Highways 39 and 5.
- Specialization: Textile and garment manufacturing and related supporting industries.
- Infrastructure: Advanced facilities, including modern wastewater treatment plants and workers’ housing for 10,000 employees.
Thang Long II Industrial Park
- Area: 345 ha
- Notable Investors: Japanese firms such as Kyocera, Hoya, and Panasonic.
- Expansion: Approved for a 180.5 ha extension in 2020.
- Incentives: 10% corporate income tax for 15 years, with 4 years tax-free and 50% reduction for the next 9 years.
Minh Duc Industrial Park
- Area: 198 ha
- Specialization: Manufacturing of electronics, paper, ceramics, and agricultural processing.
- Advantage: Proximity to key economic centers and skilled labor availability.
Minh Quang Industrial Park
- Area: 150 ha
- Specialization: Electronics, agricultural processing, and clean industries.
- Location: Adjacent to National Highway 5, facilitating logistics and connectivity.
Pho Noi A Industrial Park
- Area: 596 ha
- Specialization: Electronics, automobiles, and construction materials.
- Investors: Canon, Hyundai, and Lixil.
Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park
- Area: 280 ha
- Specialization: High-tech applications, logistics, and consumer goods manufacturing.
Yen My II Industrial Park
- Area: 313.5 ha (including 216 ha extension approved in 2021).
- Focus: Clean industries and high-tech manufacturing.
II. Investment Overview (as of 2021)
- Active Projects: 485 (270 foreign, 215 domestic).
- Total Investment: $4.9 billion (FDI) and 29,000 billion VND (domestic).
- Key Contributors:
- Pho Noi A: 209 projects, $1 billion (FDI).
- Thang Long II: 107 projects (FDI).
- Det May Pho Noi: 68 projects.
III. Development Plan to 2025 and Vision to 2035
Objectives by 2025
- Economic Structure: Industry and construction to account for 66%.
- Export Goals: $8.5 billion.
- Infrastructure: Develop 4 new industrial parks and 10 industrial clusters.
- Environmental Compliance: All parks to have standard wastewater treatment systems.
Strategies
- Prioritize investments in high-value and environmentally friendly industries.
- Develop industrial support zones for high-tech and mechanical industries.
- Expand key parks like Yen My II and Thang Long II.
