Establishment and Development
Linh Trung Export Processing Zones (EPZs) are specialized areas designed to accommodate enterprises that focus on manufacturing goods primarily for export. The trading activities within the EPZs, including import-export transactions from both domestic and international sources, are frequent and continuous.
Linh Trung EPZs are a joint venture between Vietnam and China, with the Vietnamese partner being Saigon Industrial Park Development Company (SAIGON IPD) and the Chinese partner being China United Electric Import and Export Co., Ltd. The project comprises Linh Trung I, II, and III, covering a total area of 326.37 ha, with a total investment capital of USD 55,500,000 and legal capital of USD 17,000,000, contributed equally by both parties (50%-50%).
In Ho Chi Minh City, Linh Trung EPZs consist of two zones:
- Linh Trung Export Processing Zone I:
- Area: 62 ha
- Location: Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City
- Operation Start: 1995
- Status: Fully occupied
- Linh Trung Export Processing and Industrial Zone II:
- Area: 61.7 ha
- Location: Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City
- Operation Start: 2000
- Status: Fully occupied
Linh Trung EPZs are managed and operated based on the Export Processing Zone Regulations in Vietnam, issued under Decree No. 322/HDBT dated October 18, 1991 by the Council of Ministers (now the Government).
Recognized as one of Vietnam’s most successful industrial zones, Linh Trung EPZs enjoy a high reputation among Asian investors. Among the 74 industrial and export processing zones in Vietnam, Linh Trung EPZs have the highest investment ratio, export turnover, exported product volume, and job creation per hectare.
Location
Linh Trung Export Processing Zones are strategically located next to National Highway 1A, near Cat Lai Port and Tan Son Nhat International Airport. These zones attract companies from Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, and other countries, particularly in light industries such as machinery processing.

- Power supply from 110 kV substations, ensuring stable and high-capacity power.

- The public lighting network is independently designed and installed along main traffic routes.

- Wastewater and Rainwater Drainage System:

- Waste Treatment:
- Investors sign contracts with licensed waste treatment service providers.
- Wastewater Treatment:
- Capacity: 5,000 m³/day-night
- Modern treatment system ensuring environmental protection.
- Telecommunications System:
- International standard telecommunications with high-speed data transmission capabilities.

Linh Trung EPZs I and II prioritize the following industries:
- Electronics, Microelectronics, and Household Electrical Appliances
- Rubber and Plastics (especially high-quality technical rubber products)
- Textile, Garment, Embroidery, and Weaving
- Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing

Linh Trung EPZs are located in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, within Region I. Therefore, the current minimum regional wage is 4,960,000 VND/month.
