My Trung Industrial Park is located along National Route 10, covering the three communes of My Trung, My Phuc, and My Tan (My Loc District, Nam Dinh Province), with a total area of 150.68 hectares, of which 103.10 hectares are designated for the construction of factories and enterprises. This area is considered a “golden land” that the Nam Dinh government hopes will develop into a modern and dynamic industrial park, attracting high-tech manufacturing projects and boosting the local budget.

Since late 2006, the Hoang Anh Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company has been implementing a project to invest in infrastructure construction and operation for the industrial park. Due to financial difficulties, in early 2012, the Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee approved the company to find a partner to transfer the project of My Trung Industrial Park, but no new investor has been found. In July 2017, the Management Board of Nam Dinh Industrial Parks issued Decision No. 41/QD-BQLCKCN to revoke the investment certificate of Hoang Anh Company. As of now, the transfer of the park to a new investor has been delayed due to several obstacles.

By June 2013, the park had attracted 14 investment projects, including 12 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 1,420 billion VND and two foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from Hong Kong and Japan, with a total investment of 23 million USD. A total of 27.9 hectares (27.1%) of land had been leased, and nearly 2,000 workers were employed at businesses within the industrial park.
