Quang Trung Software Park (QTSP) – Ho Chi Minh City. Total Area: 43 ha – Operation Term: Until 2051
Quang Trung Software Park (QTSP) was established on March 16, 2001. Designed as a software city model, QTSP covers a total area of 43 ha in Tan Chanh Hiep Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. It is the first and largest software park in Vietnam, recognized as a Centralized IT Zone by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
On March 3, 2016, the Prime Minister approved the establishment of the QTSC Chain, pioneering software and innovative startup development, leveraging the existing brand of QTSP and VNU-ITP (National University IT Park). Since 2016, QTSP has applied IoT technology to enhance management and supervision through the QTSC IOC (Integrated Operation Center) platform, fully integrated by 2018.
In October 2017, the Ministry of Information and Communications established the Management Council and Operating Regulations for the QTSC Chain, with QTSP serving as the core. Members of the chain benefit from preferential policies for centralized IT and high-tech zones and cooperate voluntarily to develop technology within Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese institutions.
In 2017, QTSP was ranked 3rd among Asia’s eight most prominent technology parks in operational efficiency and 4th in size and business efficiency by KPMG. In June 2018, QTSP was certified as a Science and Technology Enterprise, marking it as the first state-owned enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City to achieve this status.
In June 2019, QTSP won second place in the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Awards with its QTSC IOC application. On December 28, 2019, HueCIT (Thua Thien Hue IT Center) joined the QTSC Chain. On June 18, 2021, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 966/QD-TTg to extend the trial model of the QTSC Chain until December 31, 2023.
Currently, QTSP hosts 146 IT companies, including 6 large enterprises with over 1,000 employees each, and 650 IT products and solutions, serving 21,196 people who study and work on-site regularly. QTSP aims to become a leading smart and green software city in Asia.
