Song Cong Industrial Park II - Thai Nguyen

Overview

Song Cong Industrial Park II (SCIP II) was approved by Decision No. 1107/QĐ-TTg on August 21, 2006, by the Prime Minister regarding the development plan of industrial parks in Vietnam until 2015 and orientations to 2020. Following the success of Song Cong Industrial Park I, SCIP II was established with a promise of bringing new momentum for the development of Thai Nguyen Province.

In March 2017, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc approved the investment policy for the infrastructure development project of SCIP II in Song Cong City, Thai Nguyen Province. The infrastructure development is managed by Thai Nguyen Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company. This project, associated with a resettlement area and a 36m-wide road linking SCIP II to the old National Highway 3 and the Song Cong intersection, is one of the province’s key projects aimed at improving the investment attraction quality to make Thai Nguyen an industrialized province in the near future.

Location

SCIP II, spanning 250 ha, has successfully attracted over USD 1.2 billion in investment, focusing primarily on industrial sectors like mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing and assembly, and electronic goods production. These projects are expected to generate over USD 2 billion in export revenue, USD 1.6 billion in imports, create 30,000 jobs annually, and contribute around VND 1,000 billion to the local budget yearly.
