Yen Bai Industrial Park Updates: Latest List

Yen Bai province continues to prioritize the establishment of new Industrial Parks (IPs) along the Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway to maximize the province’s strengths and potential. Examples include Y Can – Minh Tien IP in Tran Yen district and Tan Hop IP in Van Yen district. Efforts are directed at enhancing inter-sectoral linkages within the IPs, creating sector-specific IPs to boost competitive advantages and operational efficiency, and gradually establishing supporting industries to contribute to the province’s economic restructuring.

The province aims to attract investment projects into its IPs, particularly in sectors that produce competitive products, employ advanced and eco-friendly technologies, and align with the province’s development priorities. Investments must also conform to the overall and specific planning of the province. Focus is on industries leveraging local strengths, such as agricultural and forestry processing, supporting industries (components, accessories), renewable energy production (biomass electricity), mechanics, and metallurgy (equipment, electrical appliances, steel sheets, galvanized and plastic pipes).

I. List of Yen Bai Industrial Parks

Currently, Yen Bai province has three operational Industrial Parks, one newly approved IP in January 2022, and one planned IP yet to be included in the national IP system.

A. Operational Industrial Parks

Southern Yen Bai Industrial Park

Scale: 400 ha
Location: Van Tien commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province.
Investor: Yen Bai Industrial Park Management Board.
Investment Sectors: As part of the national IP system, it attracts domestic and international investors in areas like construction materials production, mineral processing, and agricultural product processing.
Term: 2003 – 2053

Minh Quan Industrial Park

Scale: 107.887 ha
Location: Hoai Quan village, Minh Quan commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province.
Investor: Yen Bai Industrial Park Management Board.
Investment Sectors: Multi-sector industries, including construction materials production, mineral processing, agricultural and forestry processing, chemicals, and consumer goods manufacturing.
Term: 2008 – 2058

Au Lau Industrial Park

Scale: 118.35 ha
Location: Chau Giang 2 village, Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province.
Investor: Yen Bai Industrial Park Management Board.
Investment Sectors: Clean, low-pollution industries like garment manufacturing, electronics assembly, handicrafts, mechanical industries, food and beverage production.
Term: 2012 – 2062

B. Newly Established Industrial Park

Tran Yen Industrial Park

Scale: 339 ha
Location: Bao Hung and Minh Quan communes, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province.
Investor: Yen Bai Industrial Park Management Board.
Investment Sectors: Clean, low-pollution industries like garment manufacturing, electronics assembly, handicrafts, mechanics, and food and beverage production.
Term: 2022 – 2072

C. Planned but Not Yet Approved Industrial Park

Mong Hoa Industrial Park

Scale: 806 ha (mining and processing area: 406 ha)
Location: Mong Son commune, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province.
Investor: Yen Bai Industrial Park Management Board.
Investment Sectors: Limestone mining and processing, including building materials production (cement, natural stone) and lime-based products.
