Overview
Kim Thanh I Trade – Industrial Park (Phase 1) was approved by the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province under Decision No. 2969/QD-UBND dated October 10, 2008, and its detailed master plan for the Kim Thanh International Border Gate No. II area and expansion zone (period up to 2020, with a vision to 2030) was approved under Decision No. 3199/QD-UBND dated October 30, 2014, with a total area of 182.36 hectares.
In addition, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 40/2016/QD-TTg dated September 22, 2016, approving the expansion of the Lao Cai Border-Gate Economic Zone. Accordingly, the current Kim Thanh Trade – Industrial Zone is being reviewed for transformation into a modern multifunctional urban complex associated with the Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II.
Once in operation, Kim Thanh I Trade – Industrial Park will serve as a gateway for Vietnamese goods to penetrate deeper into the Chinese market, especially as the Kunming – Hekou – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong economic corridor becomes increasingly active. The park plays a vital role in driving economic development along this strategic corridor.
Location
Kim Thanh I Trade – Industrial Park is located within the Kim Thanh International Border Gate area, covering Dong Tuyen Commune (Lao Cai City) and Quang Kim Commune (Bat Xat District).
This location is a key connection point of the Kunming (China) – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong (Vietnam) Economic Corridor and is the largest trade–industrial complex in the Northwest border region of Vietnam.

Internal Transportation
A modern and complete road system allows for easy vehicle movement. The main roads have four lanes, and branch roads have two lanes, ensuring smooth access and cargo transport throughout the park.

All investors sign service contracts with licensed waste management units. Wastewater is treated to Category A standards before being discharged into the environment.
