On August 5, 2016, THACO (Truong Hai Auto Corporation) inaugurated the Korea – Chu Lai container shipping route, making Chu Lai – Truong Hai Port Quang Nam’s first direct export seaport (initially to South Korea). On the same day, expansion of Chu Lai – Truong Hai Port (Wharf No. 1, Tam Hiep – Ky Ha) officially commenced.

Chu Lai – Truong Hai Port (Tam Hiep Terminal – Ky Ha Port) is a wind-sheltered deep-sea port close to National Highway 1A and the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway.

THACO also operates two 15,000-ton container vessels (over 1,000 TEUs), serving fixed routes between China (Fangcheng Port) – Chu Lai and Ho Chi Minh City – Chu Lai.
