The Vinh Thanh Industrial Park Phase 1 (VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park) was approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 1255/QD-TTg dated October 17, 2022. On April 24, 2023, the People’s Committee of Can Tho City issued Decision No. 1015/QD-UBND approving the 1/2000 scale zoning plan for Phase 1. On September 9, 2023, VSIP Group officially broke ground on the project in Vinh Trinh Commune, Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho City.

This is the first Vietnam–Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in the Mekong Delta. Strategically located at the junction of major north–south and east–west highways in the Mekong Delta region, bordering Dong Thap, An Giang, and Hau Giang provinces, VSIP Can Tho is planned with a total area of 900 hectares. Phase 1 spans 293.7 hectares, aiming to initially create jobs for 20,000–30,000 workers, with an investment of over VND 3,700 billion (approx. USD 160 million). By early March 2024, most of the land in Phase 1 had been handed over to the developer for infrastructure construction and leasing.

INVESTMENT POTENTIAL

Upon completion, VSIP Can Tho is expected to generate 100,000 jobs and attract USD 3.5 billion in investment. The park is designed as a smart and sustainable industrial zone, with ambitions to become a major food processing and distribution hub in southern Vietnam. A “center-to-port” logistics network and supporting infrastructure will serve the entire supply chain, meeting clean, green, and sustainable standards.
