NVIDIA Chooses Vietnam as AI Research Hub

Hanoi, December 5 (Chinhphu.vn) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang have announced a collaboration agreement between the Government of Vietnam and NVIDIA. Under the agreement, Vietnam will host NVIDIA’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development (R&D) Center and AI Data Center.

The agreement was signed just over a year after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to NVIDIA in the United States in September 2023. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized that this milestone demonstrates a strong commitment to making Vietnam NVIDIA’s “second home.”

NVIDIA’s AI Research Hub in Vietnam

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and highly appreciated the efforts, commitments, and dedication of NVIDIA. He highlighted that the partnership with NVIDIA will enable Vietnam to develop AI technologies tailored to domestic conditions, build AI infrastructure, train human resources, and promote a startup ecosystem. He also pledged the Vietnamese Government’s full support to ensure the success of the agreement.

NVIDIA’s Confidence in Vietnam

Jensen Huang expressed his excitement about returning to Vietnam and announcing the new AI centers. He stated that artificial intelligence is driving significant global changes and presents tremendous development opportunities for Vietnam.

According to Huang, Vietnam needs to harness data to develop localized AI solutions that can serve industries and society. NVIDIA will provide robust support through its ecosystem of over 48,000 engineers and its collaborative network with major Vietnamese enterprises and universities.

High Expectations

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung described this as a historic turning point, placing Vietnam on the AI research map of Asia. NVIDIA’s centers are expected to not only advance high-tech development but also create career opportunities and enhance Vietnam’s capacity for innovation.

The R&D Center and AI Data Center are anticipated to help Vietnam achieve its goal of becoming a technological leader in the region and driving sustainable growth through innovation. NVIDIA has committed to supporting Vietnam on its journey to building a prosperous digital economy.

This event underscores the strategic vision of the Vietnamese Government in fostering artificial intelligence and strengthening its international standing.
